Examples of our projects include: Research Data Management System - developed database, datamarts, visualization tools, and supporting applications for innovative medical devices produced by a Fortune 500 company. Also advised on data management systems and assisted with associated infrastructure. Integrated Manufacturing Control - Created highly integrated system to manage production and CRM functions for world-wide leader in the manufacturing of custom luxury goods. Includes real-time production tracking and other visual factory elements to support lean manufacturing in a high availability environment. Lab Data Integration - Team lead for development of the CALINX Rx Verify application in support of the California Clinical Data Project. CALINX Rx Verify facilitates data transfer between health plans, provider groups, hospitals, and labs throughout Patent/IP Management - developed a database to manage the patent portfolio of the fastest growing tech company in 2003 as ranked by the Deloitte Technology Fast 500. High Performance Chat - Developed custom chat application to link stock options traders in US exchanges. Included streaming quotes, configurable real time news feed, and customizable UI. Dialysis Financial Management System - Team lead for development of an industry leading application for finanacial management of dialysis providers which was a finalist in the 1998 Windows World Open Healthcare category. Electronic Lab Notebook and Document Management UI - Reverse engineered, documented, enhanced, and internationalized a custom codebase which provides user friendly access to the underlying document management system. HL7 Interface Initiative: Led the effort to develop HL7 based interfaces between a client’s application and many external systems. Developed full specification, promoted adoption, and deployed several instances. Enterprise Financial System - Comprehensive billing and accounting system for multi-division company including CRM, HR, invoicing, A/R, and interfaces to A/P, G/L, and payroll systems. Cash POS - Point of service (POS) system for managing cash payments controls multiple cash draws and provides full audit trail, reconciliation, and reporting functions. Customer Relation Management - Provides complete customer management for appointment based businesses with customer tracking, appointment scheduling, surveys/questionnaires, and demographic analysis. Interface Engine - Developed system to transfer data between enterprise healthcare systems in real-time using TCP/IP sockets and Health Level 7 (HL7) compliant messaging. Included creation of a custom socket layer. Medical Facility Management - Developed accounting and financial management system for specialized medical clinics. Includes production and shipment tracking, disbursements journal, employee time keeping, budgeting, and accounting controls. Software Management - Helped a rapidly growing company plan the integration and development of software and networking to support multiple acquisitions; represented a software company during the formation of several strategic marketing partnerships. Old School Cred - migrated large main-frame systems to distributed PC architectures (c. 1995), built and managed nationwide X.25 and frame-relay WANs (c. 1984), implemented early LANs (c. 1985), developed early PC multi-user database applications (c. 1987); programmed and managed early Tandem fault-tolerant systems (c. 1984); hand-built numerious PC's starting after initial IBM XT (c. 1983 onward.) Wrote about early Java databases and related application frameworks (c. 1998). |
